Heading to Black pine lake(methow)...
« on: July 20, 2010, 07:15:21 PM »
....or at least that was a thought. We have small kayaks and enjoy taking them in small lakes. Anyone fish Blackpine? Or maybe Buck lake?.. or have any suggestions?

Have only been there once or twice and didn't fish.  Heard there were rattlers around the lake??  I did see a young bull moose about 2 miles from the lake about 4-5 years ago.

blackpine has a lot of small trout.  If the methow continues to drop I would float it with a fly rod.
Will hunt for food.

We enjoy Black Pine,  nice mountain lake.  Lots of small trout.  I would try damsel nymphs.  I havent been there for a year but there was lots of surface activity then.  I had small kids with me then and we did well with orange power bait.

Well we hit both lakes. And caught fish in both. A good time! My dad and I spent about 4 hrs fishing total and caught 9 fish.

The mosquitos found the 1 square inch on the back of my hand that was not covered by bug spray! Damned blood suckers!
