best camera setting?

Ok I have a nikon cool pics p100 ( all I cam afford right now) my question is if I'm wanting shoot critters what is the best setting to have it on to try and get the focused on the animal look and not all in the field! Is this even possible with this camera?  Thanks for your help  :hello:

I just leave it on the AUTO setting, but if you are setting up for a specific shot just try different settings. Trial and error, the true joy of digital. :twocents:

I FOUND THAT ON MY CAMERA, THE BEST ALL AROUND SETTING THAT WORKS FOR ME, IS THE FLOWER SETTING,  I DUNNO IF YOU HAVE THAT SETTING OR NOT, BUT ITS REALLY GOOD FOR PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING FROM LANDSCAPES TO CRITTERS TO FLOWERS.  BUT IN LOW LIGHT SITUATIONS I PUT IN IN AUTO.
