Berry report
« on: August 09, 2010, 08:51:23 PM »
We spent Sunday around 4000-4500' and found no berries even close to ripe from 2k up. Saw some bear peels at the highest elevations we made and a little sign but no bears spotted. We were socked in with fog pertnear all day so the glassing was not do-able.
I imagine we'll be back in this country in 2 weeks or so and maybe the berries will be ripe by then, maybe there won't be any fog and maybe we'll find us a bear to kill.

Up in the NE the lowbrush huckleberries have been ripe for 2 or 3 weeks @ 2200 ft. where I've been at. Not much size to them would take quite awhile to pick a gallon. I'm going to check the ones at 3400 ft this weekend.
