I'm not sure why but I found a TC Icon field grade wood stock rifle in 243 winchester today at Wholesale sports brand new in the box for $450 then I get home to do a little research on it and find that TC has a $150 mail in rebate, you gotta love *censored*-house luck :IBCOOL: :chuckle:

so you bought the rifle or going to buy it? and make sure it is a model that fits in the rebate. sometimes its only certain models of each gun like a remington 700 the sps might be on sale but the lss is not.

Nope I bought it and the rebate says all icon rifles $150 venture $75 and TC barrels $50. Even if the rebate does not the field grade Icon on Gun broker the cheapest was $699

No Icons left in stock according to the guys at SW or whatever it is called.  I stopped by today "just to check."  Did check it out at Cabelas but $849 was too much for me.  Nice score!

Thanks for the offer Sherpa.  I had actually never handled one before and tried out the Icon in a larger caliber.  It was not a good fit for me and felt kinda heavy.  I have a .243 anyway.  I was surprised that I really liked both the Tikka T3 and the Browning X-Bolt the best of what was in stock between SW and Cabelas.  I was just passing on the info to save someone a trip.  Appreciate it though.
