First archery elk! 6x6!
« on: September 08, 2010, 02:33:58 PM »
Took me EIGHT YEARS!! He was in a clearing with two cows heading toward the timber and just as he was about to enter the woods I made a cow call to stop him. He stopped perfectly broadside at 35yds and I made a perfect double lung shot!! We got a scare trying to find him because the rain was washing away the blood trail, but we found him within 100yds with a little searching. I knew he wouldnt go far with both lungs flat! Whoever said the work begins after you shoot was right, I still hurt! :rockin:

Great Bull, and good to see some dedication fighting that rain and making it pay off. Hunting doesn't happen from the couch. Awesome job!!!!

It was in a general open unit. My brother got his elk last year about 3 miles from this one.

Great job!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
