Fresh Predator pictures (OK, they are birds)

I was out coyote hunting Saturday on some open FFTH ground in eastern Washington, and came across an interesting scene. A great horned owl was being hectored by a northern harrier hawk. He would swoop down at the larger bird with his talons out. Sorry, no pictures of that.
These aren't calender-quality images, but is fun to capture them as I hunt, especially since I didn't shoot anything else that day! I guess I am a successful predator hunter, after all.

I chanced upon these birds as I was driving along a gravel road. First I saw the owl- real close, almost in the windshield. It flew back the direction I'd come from, so I got out, grabbed the camera from the back of my rig and drove back down the road to see if I could get some pictures, ultimately, about a half mile. I was just lucky that he chose not to fly away from the road. Here's a pic I grabbed before he got around the bend (one of several times!)
Later the hawk got into the picture.
I also saw three fork-horned bucks while chasing the wily coyote. This was only the second time I'd seen a buck while holding a centerfire rifle in my hand. (I don't get around much.) I had cross hairs on one of them long enough that a shot was possible (had it been in-season, etc). Yeah, and I was carrying a .204 Ruger. Not much of a deer gun. 40gr of 'devastation'

I saw a documentary about that once. They say that a nesting bird with chicks will not allow another bird of prey into its territory for fear of loss of a food source. In that documentary a Red Tailed Hawk was whooping on every owl, and crow that came near its farm field.
