Just venting
« on: September 20, 2010, 10:24:39 AM »
I know this topic has been beaten but I just wanted to vent.

My friends told me that they had discovered someone smear poop on to paper towels and threw them in the area we hunt.  Yes, this was in Little Naches.  Why would anyone do this?  Can't we just share the hunt and respect one another?  If you're reading this, you know who you are.

Unless they are animal activists.  That is one of there methods to try and keep animals away.  I have always heard of them urinationg around blinds and stuff like that in GA/FL when I was down there.

Sometimes I smear poop on toilet paper  in hunting areas.  Of course only to clean it off my bum.  And bury it.

Yeah, but this was different.  You can tell when it's different.

:chuckle: :chuckle:  Thats pretty funny i found the same thing in of the areas i hunt but never thought of it as a detterent to the animals. I just chalked it up as punk kids or some puke not cleaning his mess up. It was spread all over in big circles..   Now i think i know who did it, the hippy who stopped me a few weeks prior asking me to hunt elsewhere cuz he frequented the area and didnt want to witness bloodshed.    I'll get you hippie!!!   :chuckle:

I encountered the same thing in the 520 unit last week, my first time hunting in washington, I got in past the crowds and thought I was alone for three days, got close to two cows that were already acting jumpy and they scattered when I was about 50 yards out, I went to track them and found poop smeared TP on the ground bone dry which means it was fresh. I tracked the cows a few hundred yards and found a pile of poop from the days before, (TP had been rained on) ON THE GAME TRAIL! later I found a power bar wrapper that wasn't there the day before. Then I found a piece of the same TP on the road leading in that evening. Not an activist, just an ignorant hunter that doesn't know how to hunt i.e. too lazy to bury their poop and to do it off the game trail. Well that explains the weird call I heard the day before followed by four cows being spooked uphill from me,running past me and down into the swamp. I thought they'd smelled or heard me but now I know better. I hung it up and went home after that, I figured anyone stupid enough to wipe their butt on the game trail they are hunting is probably stupid enough to take a sound shot at me.

Coydog -- I ran across a "fresh" pile of human doo doo in 520 too!!    :'(   :bash:   Was it on the western edge of the unit?

I was in a couple miles and it was in a very heavily traveled area with some older elk sign but fresh tracks across the grass road. Were you on those cows on Wednesday by chance and were there truck tire marks on the road up in there behind the gate in that area?

After seeing that, I hiked out of there too and tried to find a new spot.......I actually picked up about four or five granola/power bar and a fruit roll up wrapper.  >:(

Lazy turds!!!
