So now the pics have to be from a stand?  They have to be called in dogs?   I can see the cap but who cares where the pic is taken?   :dunno:

Okay then, how about we just take a bunch of copied photos from other websites and post them for our team, would that work?

That way we don't even have to leave our computer to gain 10 points.  :dunno:

Rules:
1) 5 members max per team - guest/kids can count towards your total as long as they aren't regular members of your team.  *Here is what I had in mind for a "guest hunter"  Sometimes you take a newbie out, sometimes a relative rolls into town and you take them out.  If you kill an animal on these hunts then it can count toward your total as long as someone from the team was there.  A guest hunter can't go out by themselves one time, kill ten coyotes, and have that total counted to someone's team.  (For rule clarification: A guest hunter can only count toward your total for one hunt, and must be accompanied by a team member.)
2) No roadkill
3) Honor system applies
4) Photo of kill with at least one team member needs to be submitted for points to be awarded. (Or a card with team name)
5) You can add someone to your team after the 1st, but any coyotes they shoot prior to be putting on your team do not count.
6) No hand gestures needed for photos.  This is a "fun" contest.  No money or big prizes involved, so I would hope our members keep it on the up and up.  Don't drag frozen coyotes around to different locations and take pictures.  For the heaviest and smallest coyote, you will need to show a picture of the scale.  For the most animals taken in a 12 hour period, you will need to take a group shot (both ears of the animal are acceptable in lieu of a pelt or in the round).  For the most animals award, I will be counting all animals, regardless of type as 1 point (ie, 4 bobcats, 3 coyotes = 7).  This is not the calculation for your point total, just that part of the contest that applies to animals.

;) This is just for fun...

tlbradford has summed it up well for the contest. it takes work to keep up on a contest, and time. thanks for doing this contest and the work you put into it as well.

I want to clarify my stand on this photo thing. If a caller/photographer goes out and conducts him/herself as a predator hunter would, then calling and photographing a coyote in lieu of shooting it is okay by me. I can somewhat agree with the photo "before the kill" but the jury is still out on that one as it is still one and the same dog. Then again, if it were a CALLED PAIR and only one is killed then perhaps the .5 point should apply or 1 point for the photographer. Calling in a predator and choosing to not shoot it for whatever reason that person feels comfortable with is, almost as good as a dead dog. Some folks have morals, I don't!  :dunno:

Like I earlier stated, I have an issue with photographing a coyote from 400 yards out, mousing in the field as one is driving through the toolies at 75 mph, that is not calling predators nor is it hunting. I believe all photos should be reviewed by the mods before a half point is applied to that team. Obviously if it is clear and appears to be called then I'm okay with it, not the blurry mass that looks like a dog on the run through the cornfields.

Gary

I would be ok with this, if my judgement calls didn't create arguements.  I know exactly where you are coming from Gary and I agree.  Now that there is a cap on the photo's, do you think we should have a judge, or just try to encourage a higher standard without having an official rule?

I agree on the cap at minimum. I would also like to see that all photos are at least reviewed or perhaps put up for discussion and if agreed on by say 3 out of 5 members then the .5 point could be awarded to that team. I realize everyone here may not be the killing type and should have that predator counted. I am certain most here would trust your judgement on what a good photo is. It is the obvious ones that I have issue with. Call'em and shoot'em, either with a camera or a firearm, simple as that.

So FALfire are you saying if you were playing fantasy football (which, in reality, this is fantasy predator hunting) you would only take points if your quarterback scored a touchdown by passing because that's what a quarterback is SUPPOSED to to? He rushes for one on a sneak, but that's not the regular quaterbackly thing to do... :dunno:

I think the addage "If something is cooked by someone else, it's cooked JUST RIGHT" applies here. If I don't like the food, I can either cook for myself or shut up and eat. :EAT:

This is just for fun.  Some of the pics that have been submitted in the past are when guys are out photographing or at work or whatever.  That is the way it has been the last 2 seasons and no one has complained.  I don't have a problem with photos at all.

I agree. The .5 is nothing in the long run and why not let someone share their images and join in the fun? Many dogs are shot at 400 yards from the side of the road and they would be allowed so why not the photos?

It is all in good faith and fun with no prizes so I don't get the cap. :dunno:

I think the cap is a good idea, It allows for a max of 20 photos/10 pts , hopefully of good quality. 1/2 point x 30 pics or more adds up, especially when it's the same bunch of coyotes.

I agree the cap is fine.  Only thing I was thinking is guys like Boneaddict are out photographing wildlife and get pics of yotes occasionally.

Not fighting, just different opinions.  Nobody has more fun when they're out dogging than falfire.  I can attest to that. :)  Isn't the quarterback the one you always see getting pummeled?  :chuckle: :chuckle:
