Duck boat for sale
« on: September 20, 2010, 12:53:00 PM »
have you guys seen this one? we're thinking about selling our Lund and this guy has been for sale for at least 1-2 years that I know of. I swing by and look at it every once in a while. I don't think the jet is on it anymore.

20' 2008 Alumacraft 2072 AW SC/FF - US$16,999

at 20ft it's pretty robust. even though it's on the big side for most lakes and streams, it would do well in rivers and bays I think.

I like it.... But that is big.  I wanted to get something like that but the only way the wife would buy into it was if it has a windshield   :bash:

If the motor is gone, what would you think of powering it with?  Another pump or go to a prop?

I've got an 18 ft rough neck (2ft shorter) still big but lots of space for decoys, dog, buddy (if you have one to go along), blind etc. My feelings on a boat is big allows for comfort. Heck I can throw a tarp over the top bungie it down & go to sleep if I wanted.

And as far as pump & prop goes keep both. If you get it down you can drop the prop(with water pump attached) put pump in ( with its own water pump) in under 2 hours. That gives you a option of deep water lakes and shallow rivers.

It is pretty big, but I figure it's safer for big water.  I think they pulled the pump and put a prop on, we want a pump for sure for mud and rivers. But like Sisu mentioned, I want to hold on to the prop too if we end up moving to a pump setup.

Dustin,
The guts of that boat look like it's more set up for bass fishing.  I would pass on that one if you want a good open water boat with good room inside.  I saw a 2002 North River Scout for $19k in Portland, OR.  You might be able to get it down to $17k.  It had a 115 yam. prop.  The benefit will be thicker hull, "heavier" and higher sides.  You will jump from 24-26" sides to over 32".

Found an interesting one for you.  30" sides and less money and in a good size range.
