I am not positive but someone told me that washington does not require a permit to guide only outfit. :dunno:

...Is that what your guide told you...? :chuckle:  JK
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Isn't mntcook the only licensed outfitter in the Blues?

pretty sure he is the only licensed guide or outfitter in the Wenaha Tucannon wilderness.

yep one hunter one tag!!!!!!! Now think about the guy who has bought an elk tag all his life and all he has ever shot were small bulls at best. IF this big bull wasn't bought and paid for. Maybe the common man would have found him and killed him. Who do you think would be more excited ? The rich guy? Or the guy who has busted his azz without PAID GUIDES to find this animal.

Dont get me wrong that I love the fact the money is well used? (MAYBE) Just dont like the fact that we as residents of washington state sell and elk every year. Yes it is just one, but last time I checked we dont have a lot of elk like some other western states......

this thread just goes to show that as you call them "sportsman" put a price on a BULL ELKS horns??????? hmmmm ever wonder why we have poaching? maybe its becuse the horns are worth so much these days.....................

You sound like your on crank for one
Secondly you would do the same thing if you had the money to put up as well.. It was probably hard earned money. i dont know the tag holder but money usually doesnt show up on your front porch and offer to stay a while.  :twocents:

That just goes to show you what you can get with money............ time and time again. He's gotten the gov. tag the last 3 yrs., must be nice.

Not sure where the money ends up, but if it goes back into wildlife, I think that is pretty generous for him to put up that kind of money year after year. I don't even think he is in Washington, I think he is from Oregon.
 :twocents:
He is from Centralia Washington, but now lives in Vancouver WA..

Attached are two pictures of the auction tag bull killed by Dan Agnew in the Blue Mountains on Monday, 9/20 (the day after archery season). The bull is a 6 x 7 with an estimated gross score of 428 and an estimated net score of 409. The main beams are 59 and 57 inches, inside spread is 44 inches.

The bull was killed pursuant to "fair chase" standards and in compliance with all WDF&G rules and regulations. More information will be forthcoming after the 60 day B&C waiting period.

Nice job.  I'll drink to that.  :brew:

That is a great elk! Thank you Mr Agnew for spending the $ to get this tag and helping our wildlife! Now that being said as far as the hunt goes there is hunting and there is killing! My boys and I hunt in washington when we go to Wyoming next week we will be killing. This bull may have been on public land for all to take but I have a feeling at day break of that "hunt" they did not "hunt" this animal it was just killed. Anyone can be a great "killer" for the right amount of $ But you have to work hard be a great hunter. :twocents:

 :yeah:

Very well put!!

And a 2nd  :yeah:.  Yes, my opinion; I don't care if you have all the money in the world, or struggle to provide for your family every day, I hold hunting and killing in different regard.

My only thoughts this time around for this gentleman is.................... Thanks for using a picture with just himself  and the animal and not like last year with the posse of guides, scouts, babysitters etc. in it.

Wik's and Burn's have the other two licensed areas in the Blues.

I'm assuming his guide was Wik again?

I'm really tired of money bags, and his stupid grin.  A spike is more of a trophy, if you actually hunt it yourself.  What's his money going towards, another face lift for our Gov, Skeletor?

If you need a guide, you aren't a hunter.  IMO

So you know him?  Again how does the amount of money someone have make them a "real" hunter or not?

There are hunters, and then there are guys who hire guides to hold there hand.  They are not hunters... IMO.
