Who's off a little?

Your posts were seconds apart....   I think the bulk of your messages were on track, with one of you a little more 'correct'.

DoubleJ,  feel free to ask questions to clarify your confusion. We'll step all over ourselves to make sure you're going in the woods with an incredible amount of knowledge.

None of it may be correct, but you'll feel more at ease, I'm sure.  :chuckle:

Haha this thread was confusing, yet very helpful! I'd been wondering the same thing about which weapons could be used, and if they had to match the seasons that were open at the time. Good to know they dont!

Good luck DoubleJ

The regs can be confusing.  Bears do not have weapon specific seasons like deer, elk and now cougar.  We will probably have to fight to keep it that way since they want to make the same changes for bear season that they did for cougar.

So, Modern for deer in my GMU 672, is Oct- 16-31 and modern elk is Nov- 6-16.  Bear ends Nov. 15.  Those 2 blocks of time are the only time I need hunter orange?  Even if I bear hunt with a rifle?

This is exactly correct
