I have hunted GMU 501 (Lincoln) unit a few times in the past couple of years. Does anyone else hunt elk in this unit? Any success?

I have hunted that unit the past two (2) years during the late muzzleloader season for deer/elk and only seen 1 buck during the season and 2-3 does before the season in that area. I had game cameras set up just before last year late season and seen 2-3 different bucks and 1-2 different does come through the area I was hunting every 3rd or 4th night. In the same area were scrapes, rubs, dropping, and tracks just never seen any blacktails during the day. I think that unit hit really hard all season long, by the time turkey day comes around they have already gone nocturnal.

For elk I have only seen droppings and tracks in the field, and cow heads at the entrances to two of the lock gate closed roads I hunted.
