Sinlahekin Unit?

  Anyone ever hunt it?  Would really like to fill a Bear tag and my archery Deer tag before the season is up.  What is the terrain like, Mule deer , or white tails, and is there many Bears around.

I hunted it last year in late season!It was crawling with people.There were good numbers of whitetail in valley and muleys up on the ridges.Terrain is open and steep.We saw sheep everyday.I would recommend going in the paysayten wilderness for early season,for deer and bear.

sinlahekin is always crawling with people, steep country, dry, no animals, ahh yes and the hunter orange covers hills.  :chuckle:

When I drove through there last year, I never saw one guy out of camp...they were all just kickin it in camp...of course...I was in a truck.

Like previously said, steep/open terrain...whiteys down low, seems kind of a tight area to hunt really.

If you do go there, check out (Charlies Grave site) on the side of the mountain.  and the old cabins that are there.  Its up from blue lake in the circle of roads.  Good luck up there.

I have hunted there for late archery. Were about is "Charlies grave site" and what area is it in????Never heard of it......

If you want to drive a little, just northeast of Davenport is where I hunt. The land owner has a disabled hunt on his property every year. Sit in a blind in a wheat feild while somebody beats the brush below in the canyons. I can check to see what is up this year. Let me know if you want me to look into it.
