First hunt of the fall with a double Whammy
« on: September 30, 2010, 12:34:53 AM »
2 days after i got back from a tdy(lastnight) i went out for a little hunt to see what i could rustle up. they came out about 1950 and stayed in the brush mostly. by the way they were acting i didnt think it was a geist with a kitz. eventually the smaller one with the summer coat stepped out  and i popped her (just in case it is a geist with kitz, you always shoot the kitz first then momma usually comes back) she stumbled about ten yards and that was that. the other one just watched then waited about 5 minutes and tried to sneak out on the back side of the brush. took the first broadside she gave me and she went about 5 yards. I've been watching these two for months i believe.  probably a geist with a schemall reh that just wouldnt leave.

Forester was pretty happy. He has a had a problem with his hunters passing on deer.

Thanks grund.

Is this a joke?

If they were fawns what kind of deer would you guess them to be?   :chuckle:

very nice first hunt! :IBCOOL:

i want to see some boar pics
One of my all time fave trail camera pics was the one you posted. "i think was" your friend that shot the boar. the trail camera took a pic right before the shot, and the next one showed the boar down. that was pretty sweet!

yeah. i let the lab blood trail the first one and the deutchkurzzhar trail the second one. you could definately tell that the pointer had a much stronger nose. she got a lot more birdy too.

yup my buddy phil. hoping to have a picture like that of my own soon. Forester just gave me another seat that appears to be a better set up for the boar.  :IBCOOL:

that grey keiler is a beast!

those longer tines on the crowns are fantastic. I'll be hoping and praying for blessings on this hunt.
