Disabled Hunter & ATV
« on: September 23, 2010, 11:06:11 AM »
Can I use my ATV in GMU520 Winston? I certainly will not be tearing through the timber. I will only use it on existing logging roads. Any assistance offered will be greatly appreciated.

You can use it on state land, but not Weyerhaeuser, or any other private timber company land.

I have hunted Winston Creek the last 4  years and every year people have quads up there or the new ORV 4 wheel drive things... My first year up there I had my quad. Seen gamewardens, sheriffs, and port blakely workers while hunting and they never said anything to me. But I'm sure that might be just 1 of the reasons why Winston Creek is closed and walk in only this year.

I am having a hard time believing that the entire winston unit will have gated roads with no access for the modern rifle hunt....sorry.
