high country bear/deer hunt
« on: September 27, 2010, 07:30:40 PM »
I posted on here a while back about going up on the border of ONP and hunting bears/deer. I have a archery tag for deer so I am looking at casing some bears but was wondering if someone wanted to tag along with a rifle. Cant find who responded to my last post.

Its about 6 hrs of steep climbing to get there. Leaving Friday early afternoon Oct 15, coming out that sunday. Light weight back packing style. I have everything so if there is someone who is serious and in shape PM me.

Ive never been up there in Oct but I've seen a TON of bears year after year when up there in late sept.

No archery deer season is not open but archery rifle is. I would be archery beer hunting but is someone with a rifle deer tag wanted to come they could get either. Ive never seen cougar tracks or a cougar but the area is huge so i am sure there are more in some areas.
