Crows this morning
« on: October 02, 2010, 08:41:53 AM »
Went up to look for a bear.  Had hundreds of crows flying over me and decided to change gears.   Set out the Spitfire and cranked "crow fight" on full blast.  Within seconds had so many crows around me I was having a hard time locking on to just one.  4 rounds later 2 crows down.  I would have tried for more but I only had 4 rounds of bird shot incase I saw a rabbit or grouse.  They didnt seem to care about the gunshots or me moving the gun around.  They just kept circling.  It was RAD.  :chuckle:  Im gonna start carrying more rounds with me from now on.

I've been making up some crow decoys (wood profiles) today.  I hope to get after some crows later this week.

Dang Ivarhusa those are cool.  You gonna do any overhead view silhouettes to go with them?  If you look at some of those videos I posted in the other thread you can see they use a hawk or owl decoy also.

Lookin' good on the decoys. They would be a lot easier to pack then the full size/3d ones I have .

I wonder what a skinny profile decoy looks like from the air. Maybe a "top profile" is needed, too, to complete the effect.
