New Camo?

I have a question for all of you out there who have just geared up for the new season or ready to gear up. I currently have Maddog pants and jacket and i love the material because it blends well and is pretty quiet, however I get
as ...... well you know lol. because they are just cold weather camo and hunting here in on the east side it can get 75 degrees on some days during early modern firearm season. My wife aka the "boss" or the "bank" lol kidding she's awesome has said i can update my gear. I have checked out outfitter camo, which i think is awesome in color for blending in and just cool or the New gear from Russell Outdoors. The only issue i have with the outfitter is from what i have read and checked it out it's
also. The Russell Outdoors gear seemed medium-weight and comes in bibs and a jacket which i really want bibs to keep my midsection covered. do any of you have any suggestions on what might be medium weight for hotter hunts but great for cold with proper under layers.
Thanks for the help all!

well ....not exactly....but i usually just wear a camo hoodie....the thing is, i hunt modern firearm...which means i have to wear orange as well, so whats the point of camo really....but for other things i use different camo hoodies and then i have a light jacket that goes on top. i also have the mad dog stuff.....i have the thin stuff that is waterproof, but that being said, it does not breath well. sometimes I think that it might be just as good to wear brown Carhartt pants and just wear layers for the rest....i always have my backpack with me when i go around (and it feels light because it usually carries Chemistry, anatomy and physiology, plus Biology books in it) when I go out so I have the option of removing layers or putting more on...in conclusion, i guess the best thing to do is just have one of everything and then watch the forecast the day before so you can go into the hunting vault and pick out the best fit....

I actually wore some of the russell APXg2 gear this year on the westside for early ML season and it worked great. I bought the L3 Zephyr wich was very light weight but a great wind/light rain blocker. They also have a slightly thicker layer called the Gale which I think would be better in a little colder weather. The cost does add up to be able to purchase all the different layers but its still way cheaper then the Sitka gear. FYI, the only true waterproof Russell layer is the Cyclone.

Here is what I use. I love it. Very versatile since it is a two jacket system. I wear the outer layer only early season, the inner layer only if it is cold but dry out, and both layers when it gets chilly. I haven't looked at the similar system from cabelas, but layering is hte only way to go in Eastern Washington.

i would look at the 90% light or ascent made by sitka. they have the stuff on camofire.com for around 50% off quite often. the celcius vest is on there right now for like 40 or 50% off right now.

I like the Sitka Gear stuff but I also have some King's gear and some Natural Gear snow camo.
I saw that UA has a new line of clothes that look like they might be made to compete with Sitka (which is pretty sweet - the more competition the better. Drives down prices and forces innovation. I LOVE capitalism.)

Under Armour - Check out the stuff called Ridge Reaper.
I've only seen pictures of it...so I can't validate it for quality, etc.

Duh! I should have figured that out HA. Stupid acronyms. Looks cool. We need more competitors to the Sitka. So far Russell seems to be the only other player, so hopefully UA can get in the game.

My buddy just bought UA Deerecho system. I am highly jealous!! He said it was awesome. We were in temps up to 60 degrees and rain here on the wet side. With proper layering the system is almost perfect.
From hunting in 75 degrees into sub zero temps one has to have multiple camo selections. So far I have three. I grew up in N. Michigan and so I have a body suit that is like a sleeping bag, Cabelas Whitetail Extreme. Never got cold except for fingers.
Best all around hunting set I have had is the Sportcheif Bowhunter. It is water proof and really done a great job over the last 5 years. I can layer up as needed. The zippers are cut with archers in mind, really pretty cool.
Finally i have light weight t-shirt and pants for hot weather.
I have used the scent-lok etc and for me its only worth its weight when I am in a treestand, otherwise it doesnt breath well enough. As long as a person learns to hunt the wind, scent-lok equipement is not necessary.
Top of the list for new purchases is a battle between Sitka and UA
