NE Washington Elk
« on: March 27, 2008, 10:01:21 PM »
Ok, I'm fairly new to elk hunting, but know that it's not easy.  I am looking for a good place north of Spokane to hunt elk.  I have seen a few in GMU 117.  I'm just trying to find a good area with public land.  I know there are not a lot of elk in the NE part of the state but don't like the huge crowds in some of the other parts of the state.  Grew up around Wenatchee, but the clockum area gets too damn crowded.

scan through the elk hunting forum...this topic has been covered about 17 times, but the info you find will be vague at best. the guys that know the elk up there are not giving out info willingly for good reason. it is not easy knowledge to come by.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Call and talk to the wildlife biologist up there or email him. I am sure they can tell you general areas to start looking for them.
