Pick up the regs and read em, that will tell you where you can and cant hunt elk and any weapons restrictions. internet scouting isnt gonna help you alot, especially this time of year. read some success stories, might be a clue or two in there  :twocents:

Go to ur local sporting goods shop and talk to some of the people who work there and talk to the local WDFW, between the two of them i'm sure you'll find a descent spot
