Save a big blackie for me. I drew a late buck tag, and won't be heading out till Nov 17. The wife only gives me so many hall passes, and I have to save them up.
I want to see you shoot the way you shout.

Sitting here watching the "pumpkin parade" driving down Vail.  A bunch of folks getting a late start.

Once I hit the dirt roads my cellphone signal goes away, what company are you with?

AT&T. No service at my house, but full bars in the blind. Go figure.

Already a bummer of an opener. I seriously underestimated the number of modern rifle hunters. Had deer feeding all around me untill about 20 minutes to shooting light. Then the storm troopers came through. Counted 17 that I could see. Every one of them had a KC light stapled to there forehead. Talking back and forth loud enough to be in a bar. Ran all of the deer down the canyon a little ways where apparently 50 of there closest friends were waiting to waylay em. Don't get me wrong I am happy for them getting there deer. Just wish I had brought my own army to drive em around like that. Trying to decide weather to pack up my blind or wait it out.

I cant make that call since I am not there, but I know what you mean. A couple of weeks ago, I was bear hunting, got to the top of a bowel before first light and waited.  as soon as the sun peaked up,  a guy on a 2 stroke, and a gal on a quod pulled up on a saddle across the bull from us, and not only were yelling at each other but kept revving up the two stroke.  Then they start a fire, and keep yelling at each other. Me and my buddy ended up moving..

Oh don't get me wrong I am not so much upset with them as I am myself. This is the first time in a long while that I have went to the modern season instead of the muzzy. I scouted my ass off for deer but completely forgot to account for the number of hunters that show up on opening morning. Completely different scenario than the muzzy season.

If you dont mind me asking how far are you from the road?  I have a spot that I am taking a friend to tomorrow morning, and it a  mile hike, but on a good game trail.  I hope I dont see the pumpkin patch there myself.

About 3/4 nautical miles. Noisy walking but fairly easy. I think it would all depend on what unit your in.

Hey, just had a jack ass glass me with his rifle scope. I am trying to keep my spirits up but this modern rifle thing is for the birds. Going back to bow or muzzle loader after this season is over. Don't take it too hard, I know there are a lot of good modern hunters, but the dumb asses come out in droves for this season.

You said it, there should be a law that inorder to hunt you must have so many seasons of mentorship.  I swear some guys meet each other on dumba@#.com and go hunting :chuckle:
