I have used strelok (paid and free) as well as shooter. I currently use shooter on my iPhone. Once it is set up it works spot on to 1000 when correct data is entered.

Thanks man I'll check em out.  I have an android.  Maybe a dumb question but do I have to have internet connection in order for the app to work?

I use isnipe and it works great.  I combine that with the freebie on Vortex's website.

Make sure the one you get has the good G1 and G7 numbers already in it if you are looking for maximum predictability.

No internet connection needed. They all work offline. Download strelok and play around with it. I had a android until a couple weeks ago and they worked fine. Also check if your phone has pressure reading capability. The Samsung s3 does and I downloaded an app that read absolute pressure. It was spot on with my kestrel.

Just downloaded it while I was waiting for a reply :chuckle:  Looks like it will do everything I need it to do.  I'm by no means a long range guy so this will get me to that 700ish mark that I'm very comfortable with.  I was hoping my Leica was going to be able to accurately give me MOA adjustment readings but not so much.

Don't trust the free strelok

It didn't like adjusting for the high elevations

I've had good luck with both Shooter, and the Applied Ballistics app. ISnipe only tracks out to about 1000 yards. Beyond that it's way off!

Good to know.  I will have to play with it as I could be as high as 13k in Colorado this year.

I use Ballistics AE, Applied Ballistics and a Modified Pesja Spreadsheet.

The Pesja model is what I use to get me started initially.

After than I usually have to "true" the other two.

If your stuff is not working, make sure your environmentals are correct. Do not confuse Station Pressure with Barometric Pressure, they are NOT the same.

again, make sure to TRUE YOUR APP.

I tried a couple of free apps, seriously disapointed and then found "shooter" Best $10 I ever spent

I'm using KAC Bullet Flight Level 2, version 4.3
I love it. You can asign 5 separate BC's and there speeds (bc changes as a bullet slows) can also adjust you "click" value as most scopes are not a true .25 moa(some .24-.27 as I've measured). Also you program the conditions for when you zeroed. Then when your getting ready for a shot you put in current conditions. It knows what your zero will be for the new conditions to give a more accurate dope in real world conditions

Karl, I use Applied Ballistics. Google who Bryan Litz is, the creator of AB, and you'll quickly learn that he's a frickin genius with bullets and ballistics. The app for your phone works great. Put me within 1/10 MIL at 1400 yards. If you really want to be an OG, get the Kestrel with AB installed on it. One unit to measure and calculate your ballistics.

I use the an as well but like the KAC better.  I also have most of Bryan's books.
