« on: October 26, 2010, 07:21:23 PM »
Does anyone hunt off of Janicki Rd behind clear lake.  Im new to the area and have been spending a lot of time up there.  Seen lots of sign but haven't seen a single deer.  Any info would be appreciated as im starting to get a little frustrated.  I know theyre there but I cant find them :bash:

Sounds like your where you need to be. Keep hitting hard, especially through the end of the week (season), you've got sign and the right weather now and through the week for blacktail hunting and I think some rutting going on.  Keep hitting the spots your seeing sign and they will come. If your hunting some clearcuts get in the timber where you can still see the cut and walk the edge of the cut top to bottom, they like to hang on the edges. Patience grasshopper!

I was hunting that area as well. I focused on rub lines thats how i shot my buck sunday night. They were active at around 5pm till 8:30am from what i was seeing but you need to be in there before light and out well beyond dark. all the bigger bucks were alone but searching so get out there. try rattling and scraping trees along the rubs your finding be patient and it will pay off. GOOD LUCK
Never to far, Just grab another minute!
