Ruger Customer Service
« on: October 29, 2010, 05:11:23 PM »
have to hand it to them and am really happy with them.  the recoil pad on my M77 Hawkeye started seperating from the butt of the stock got bad enough where it has torn away from the bottom screw. i sent ruger an email explaining the problem and basically asked if they had any factory pads for sale, fully planning on just buying a new pad.

they replied saying i could either send the stock in and they would replace it or i could get a new pad and have a smith grind it down. so i called them, i was a bit confused on the response, talked to a service rep explained what was going on answered a couple related questions gave them some info on the rifle and they are mailing out a new pad, no charge! they did say the pads are over sized and will require some fitting but nothing a pencil and a dremel can handle
