idk what u folks are talking about. i got into 300+ head of elk hunting just 329. lots of cows and 2x2s and 1x2s. camped below petitt and mile high camp did my night time bugling and the elk were there 7 out of 9 days. by morning light we could hear the bulls bugling below the reserve. passed on 2 bulls that were on the border of 1x1 an 1x2s damn the 1" margin. 30yds on 5 power on the scope and couldnt tell if the nubs were 3/4" or just over 1". all in all i had a GREAT season in the colockum nothing better than seeing hundreds of elk and getting the opportunity to possibly get an illusive true spike. one bad thing tho....LOTS of illegal kills. had a 1x2 run past camp and the dirty frijoles shot and killed it. had it happen twice. chasing a herd with a 1x2 and from somewhere close a BOOM!! ppl shoot at anything thats brown and moving up there. also got to see the Los Charros camp get busted with a 1x2 that they busted off the 2pt with their knife and a rock atleast thats what the g-wardy said. love to hear how every1 elses hunt went!
