This conversation yesterday with Rasbo was from remembering times past when we would have a guy's only weekend up there.

We would gather a group of guys for a weekend of fishing. We would bring a few boats and lots of guys. We would fish late spring for sea bass, ling cod and other bottom fish. While doing this we would watch whales, eagles, seals and sea lions. There is great scenery up there to look at also. You are very close to Cape Flattery which has been featured on national programs as one of the most scenic views in the country. This is where the Straights of Juan De Fuca meets the Pacific Ocean.

We would do this in the late spring before salmon season starts and it becomes a nut house up there. We would have fish feeds and meet guys that had many great conversations and made new long term relationships. We even had people fly in from out of state, it was a blast. We even drank a little beer! :) I can tell you that the times spent up there will be cherished as some great quality time in life.

There are places to rent along with rv spots and tent spots. I did not know if there would be any interest in this, but thought that maybe some might be interested.

Thanks Rasbo for bringing this up. I remember the first year that I did this, I was not sure if I would want to. A Friend of mine talked me into it and we did it for years annually after that.

The Bottom fish at Sekui really have gotten hit hard over the years. Small limits and not many fish. Neah would be better for this but its a 20 or so mile run from Sekui to good fishing.

Bottom fish opens May 1. Salmon, (Blackmouth), open till April. Then not again till July.

Snow creek would be better for a bottom fish trip if Neah is out.

The reason we stayed a Sekiu was because of the accommodations and launches. Snow Creek can not launch larger boats due to the type of operation that they have there, sling and rail system. They also are exposed to the winds which has beat the snot out of one of my boats in the past. Snow Creek also is a pretty small resort for a group from what I remember. I agree with you about Sekiu limits and being hammered. I can motor from Sekiu to area 4 that has better fishing and larger limits pretty quickly in my boat. I run to Snow Creek in my boat each time that I go up there.

I would be happy to participate with any season and fish anywhere up there. I was starting a conversation with Rasbo that worked very well in the past. If anyone has better suggestions that people would enjoy, I think that would be great!
