Goldendale deer
« on: November 01, 2010, 03:05:03 PM »
hey guys me and my grandpa are going to be doing the late muzzleloader hunt down there(we think) What I am wondering is if there is a good amount of public land to hunt of if it is mostly private. We are going to be making a trip down in the next week or so to look around.  i was just not wanting to go down there if it is mostly private and little to no public land to hunt on? Thnaks

Almost zero public land to hunt there.  It's all leased up. :twocents:
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

you will have to hunt the east side 382 because there is no muzzle season on the other side of the highway. there is very very very limited public ground on this side of the highway. almost all of the ground is private ground or in leases. there is also only a few pieces of gov ground that is not land locked. and those few pieces will be hunted hard by all the other guys that are trying to hunt public ground in this unit. good luck to ya

boy the public land is min. and very hunted. I hunted Goldendale for the last three years with my muzzle loader. I had copies of all the state land and most of it is land locked. good luck maybe you will find something better.

you might want to think about hunting 381 kahlotous.  I went down last year for the late hunt.  tons of deer.  Most I have seen on a late hunt.  I would encourage you to look over that way.  almost all private.  But the farmers are pretty good down there about giving permission.  The animals are migrating out of the blues into this area.  I am not kidding when I say I probably saw 450-500 head in two days down there.  Might be worth looking into
