Only saw one elk hanging in Little Naches last weekend, and our party was told by the ranger/warden in the area that only 3 for sure were taken and possibly a 4th.

My dad and did chase around an approximate 4pt raghorn opening morning plus we ran into 2 cows and a calf while chasing him. We couldn't ever tell exactly how big he was, pretty thick and nasty where we were. Everytime we got close we could pretty much see his body, but not all of his rack. Then he would take off. It was almost as good as getting something to just chase him around.

I helped a friend field dress a spike on Monday that he shot in the Mt Spokane unit.  I'll post a picture when it gets emailed to me.

I tagged my third spike in the last four years on Monday!  :bfg: I didn't get out in '08 season but tagged out '07, '09', '10. All three were dropped within 500 yards of each other and in '07 my brother dropped one within 100 feet of where I got mine. I think I like that place!  :mgun:  I removed my earlier post due to the bad picture quality. Here is one a lot better. We brought it out whole and took the picture just before the skinning started. This was on Monday and on the Saturday opener my hunting partner's son got one also.

I have one from my Blackberry that was on this post but it is pretty blurry and even in the good light it was dark enough for the flash to go off and it made the eye look "devilish". :chuckle:

I will only say that it is near Naches. So far we are not overrun by truck loads of pumpkins. ;)

"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
- Thomas Jefferson (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria)

Elk4me, glad you were able to tag out.  It was a tough year for spikes this year.
