I have sat back and viewed every response to this topic since it started. Im not sure everyone understands that there IS a higher power to this equation that needs to take 90% of the blame. Our own elected officials, and 100 year old state tribal game agreements. It is 2010 and the natives need to sack up and quit raping OUR lands(non-tribal) of our game and fish! I say its time to re-write the laws regarding where the natives can fish and hunt. They wanted their own land ,we gave it to them! Now that they have hooked and shot every dam animal on "their" lands, they want to do it to OURS, and the ARE!!! Look at the Mucks! I rest my case!!! If you are fed up and mad as hell, WE need to stand up and get the states attention! The only thing that Olympia understands is money. This may sound odd but we need to send OLY a message by NOT going elk hunting or deer hunting, by NOT buying tags and licenses! The monetary loss of boycotting buying tags and licenses WILL get Olympias attention in a hurry! All it would take is 1 year of NOT hunting and OUR message will be clear! WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!! If we hurt them in the wallet, they will listen. If WE keep buying tags, they cant hear OUR frustration. I WILL take next year off, both deer and elk, then i will go hunt idaho,montana,oregon! Please believe me this is the only way to get OLYMPIAS attention, its money! And its time to shut off the money!!!

I agree, to an extent, but at the same time, do you really think that we could get enough people to do it where it would actually make a noticeable difference? It would take thousands of people doing it for it to come close to making a difference. What scares me the most is that I think alot of people would SAY they weren't going to hunt but then they would back out at the last minute.

You do understand that the Treaties are Federal and not state?  And that, at least with the Yakama Nation, the treaty included the tribes "right" to hunt and fish on "ceded" land?  Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with the raping of the land at all.  Boycotting hunting and fishing will solve nothing.  The majority in this state would love to see that happen as they are totally against hunting in the first place.  The only way to get anything accomplished would to revamp State Government and that would mean to oust Chrissy from her home.  As we just have seen, that is a up hill battle that Im not sure can be won.  just my

Honestly I'd be onboard with the idea. But given what the state has already done. How can we be sure they get the message? Seems if history repeats itself they would just raise License fees again

I agree with bushmaster. But, It won't change until the Congress reviews it and makes a decision, which would be an ACT. You may not like what I am going to say, and I am not a sympathizer in anyway, but the law is on their side. A fed. Court judge and congressional act in the early 80's (Bolt decision) gave Indians and Tribes uninterrupted use of lands and harvesting of game for hunting/fishing purposes. Doesn't matter if the Indians are on State or Fed Land, Indians have complete Soverign Immunity for all there actions on state land, only in Indian court ate they held accountable for their actions and some criminal acts on state property where the tribe has agreed with the state that they have jurisdiction over the Indian, it comes under PL 280. But not all tribes have agreed to this act, so they cannot be touched. By not buying tags or lic. to show the gov. we hunters are boycotting you, they don't care, the gov. will find some other way to put money in the general fund. Good luck I agree with you, its 2010 not 1910. Things have changed.

I would not be on board with this.....First off, they would never get the messege you wanted them to get! Second, you couldn't get enough people in this state to hold up on a year of hunting, me included. Third, I think you would be doing exactly what this liberal state wants.....no hunting!

What I don't get is why are we not getting this into the public eye more.....if you want to get something out there, picket, rallies, marches, something that draws news crews in........ Why has none of this been tried?!?!

I would 100% agree if the media weren't so freaking liberal and honestly, I still don't think enough, except us hunters, care. 

Remember a few years back when some native americans shot and killed the elk right out of the Nile feeding station.  Remember what happened with that travesty?  Little to nothing!

I asked/said this in the original "Good day" thread and will expound upon it in this thread too.  I, and I highly doubt I'm alone, get really sick and tired of reading and or hearing about american indians doing nearly anything they want, with regard to game animals fish included, and basicly, IMHO, pulling the race card by claiming it to be Religious, Cultural, Spiritual and or Ceremonial in order to get away with it or not draw any legal attention to themselves.  I could be wrong but it seems as though that's their get out of jail card that they have an endless supply of.

Again, I could be wrong and I won't begin to try and speak for anyone else but I believe there would be ALOT less pissed off Americans if Native Americans hunted or fished using the same "Traditional" methods their forefathers used.  In fact, I personally would have a HUGE amount of respect and see no issue with the current rules and regulations pertaining to treaty rights if they could only use the tools of their forefathers. 

But when you drive around in modern day vehicles and use modern day firearms I seriously struggle to see the "Cultural or Ceremonial" value.

For me, its not that they use modern day vehicles and weapons, it is more that they get special seasons and bag limits. If they hunted the same seasons, same methods, (on non res land of course) then I would have no issue with it. Its more that they actually CAN have their cake and eat it too. All I ask for is equality... Is that too much?

This is exactly what I wanted to happen with this!!! YES WE CAN GET OUR POINT ACROSS!!! AND YES the state can make sweeping changes to WASHINGTON states game laws. Tags and licenses are the 3rd biggest cash cow for the state!! Lets kill the cow by Not buying tags and licenses for a year. This country was founded by people like YOU and I saying  NO!!! All it takes is 1 person to start this grass roots boycott. I'M THAT GUY!!! I WILL START THIS! This boycott will cost us nothing! OUR VOICES WILL BE HEARD! AND OUR ACTIONS WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. The state does want US to hunt,that's how they make money. If there is no hunting they make no money! The strongest message we can send is to not BUY into a miss-managed program. I WILL STAND UP FOR YOU, I WILL FIGHT FOR YOU! WOULD YOU DO THE SAME FOR ME? HELP ME HELP ALL OF US. WE THE PEOPLE is what I believe in, and I believe we need to put our big boy pants on and let Olympia know that WE THE PEOPLE are loud, WE THE PEOPLE are serious about our hunting and fishing!!

I can honestly tell you that the state IS going to raise the cost of licenses,tags, and permits if we dont stand up!! Do you know what we get for those rise in costs? NOTHING, they know you will pay it, and then bitch about it on this site to people who do nothing to stop it!
