Curly, we're all entitled to our opinion including you. I don't feel I jumped to any conclusion with the amount of information provided, other than the gun issue which sounds strange to me (who just wanders into the nearest house and grabs a gun?) -which I said later maybe I was too critical of, other than that I felt and still feel this is not a hunting thread, but maybe something for general discussion.

"The guy saw it get hit by a car and watched it go up the hill and lay down.  He was on his way to work and couldn't have a gun on company property so he went to the nearest house and got a 30-30 from there.  He walked up and shot it.  I will leave names out of it.  It is a big dear though."

The State's guidance on observing an accident is that you have to call it in if damage has occurred to a vehicle/ property, regardless of some of the arm-chair lawyering here, helping craft this type of legislation gives me some perspective. To me it's incredibly irresponsible to put a deer before a threat to human life, such as a drunk driver, or someone possibly injured in an accident, I only know how I would respond. In fact I have been in situations where a deer was hit and my only concern was for the accident victims. I find it bizarre that there are others out there who don't share the same concern and I can only say I hope your never in need of assistance from others on the roads. If an officer responded, the story would have been different and I'm sure you know that. I was far from the only one to comment on this one, I read at least three other comments that suggested similar thoughts. Losing family members to drunk drivers perhaps makes me more aware of some of these issue's, not every deer collision is unavoidable, particularly if it is observed in broad daylight hours. That's all I will say on this further, if anyone wants to debate personally take it up by PM please.
