It's time to HUNT!
Going for my first bull
«
on:
November 08, 2010, 11:37:10 AM »
Well after 13 years of no elk hunting due to my career, I finally have the chance to get back on things. I have only shot cows in the past, and that was several states away
I am heading out to wynoochee on wednesday in hopes of bagging my first bull elk. I got all the camping gear, one pay check at a time, and through some dontations of members on here with campin gear( Thanks a ton!!!
) Been hitting the gym on a regular basis, and have got the fever full on. Last night I loaded my truck up with my wood for the camp fire, and all of the other heavy items. Been through my checklist a million times, and I know I will forgot something critical
I would like to say thanks again to the members that helped me set this trip together once again, and hopfully next monday I can post some pictures of my hunt!

Alright, got back last night cold and tired. Didnt get a single elk, but had a blast! Saw more deer this week than I have all year, and wish the deer season was open
Had a herd of elk that wouldnt come out into the open on both occasions we worked a particular clear cut. That is just frustrating for that to happen, and with all the dead branches doing a stalk would have been impossible. The second night in, can you say things that go bump in the night
Something crashed into the tent knocking it partly over, and scaring the sh*t out of us. As a result of the animal running into the tent, we lost a pole, and the the rope was snapped
I think it may have been a deer, but with us sleeping on rocks there was no tracks to be found. Spent a lot of time on the clear cuts, and one day in the timber. It was wet the whole time, and depending on how high we were it was either raining, or light snow. Cant wait for next years season! Here's some pics from the hunt, and camp!
