Ouch! Put in the slammer over a not true spike? Crap, make him pay a big fine, that is cheaper for us tax payers! If he don't pay, then maybe put him/her in jail! I saw a good number of elk this season, one true spike that I let go. Butchered a calf in Aug, still enjoy being out hunting!
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

We were up there most of the season and saw a couple herds with 100 to 150 head. Trouble was we didn`t start till tuesday and by then the true spikes were already taken. We took a nice one out of there last year on opening day. Seems to be alot more on that side of the freeway compaired to the other side where we hunt. Also hunted the Quillamine alot this year and man did we see some elk. Same trouble no shooters.

Saturday was a FOGGY day, so the critters had a much better survival rate, and Monday was foggier and WET. They had another good survival day. They need these conditions with the way Washington state DNR has raped their cover.
