Hit the Lake Wilderness zoo this morning, kids each caught one at the guaranteed catch area, they thought it was the greatest thing ever.

Robo, that pic is a keeper.

Ridgerunner, opening day at Lake Wilderness? man last time I tried that you could walk across the lake stepping from boat to boat. You could not even troll so many people were there, lol.

Nothing better then watching the kids catch their first fish.

I snuck out this morning and took my little guy along with grandpa, my buddy and his five year old son. Just a little local lake in Gig Harbor. This one was my sons first rainbow. Grandpa trying to get him to hold it for the picture.  Caught on a fly too :)

My buddys kid nailed a good one.

No pics for us, but M-ray and I took the kids out for a few hours. We CnRd a few and on the 3rd one I believe an Osprey swooped down and took my son's fish a few feet from the boat. As his line started to scream towards the sky the lure came loose. Just then a Baldy swooped in and attacked the Osprey. For several minutes they went at it until they were mere specks in the sky. Finally the osprey dropped the fish and the Baldy caught it and flew off. Why couldn't the camera have been at the ready? Priceless! Was this the highlight for my son? No, he was pissed he couldn't stab the last one we released with his new pocket knife. This was at Wilderness.

Honestly I have no idea, that place is usually packed before light  :dunno: unless it has something to do with the toxicity of the water and everyone found out the water there kills your dogs if they drink it, maybe that had something to do with keeping it down to a dull roar this year ??

Great fishing though, We had released our 19 fish and kept one by around 8:30am and were back at the launch by 8:45.

Tmike,
You mean you didn't have the pics! Here are a few from our Afternoon with the kids I think the grand total was something like 8 landed but if the kids would have been paying attention more to their rods the numbers would have been higher!

First off each playing the big ones laughing hysterically with each crank of the reel I might add!

Got one marginal picture of the thief just after he got his a$$ kicked by the Baldy! Serves him right for steeling our fish!

My daughter had to have at least one picture with one before we released it!

The big guy was mad he didn't get to stab any of the fish in the eye with his new pocket knife!

We had a great afternoon and the looks on the kids faces when they had a fish on was .... Priceless! Thanks again tmike.

Houndhunter, beautiful fish. Where do you keep a fish like that on a pontoon boat?

M_ray,

great job fishing with your kids, looks like they had a blast, :fishin:

even if the little man didn't get to stab anything... :chuckle:

Sometimes I think it's more fun to watch the kids catch 'em than it is for me to catch.

Thanks for the pics

Here are some photos of my daughter, wife, granddaughter, grandson and myself on opening weekend.  We had a blast and all limited out.  The biggest we got was like 18.5".  Smallest was around 11".  My wifes parents were there also.  We caught ours pretty quick on Saturday.  Sunday was slower but we were off the lake and heading home by 9:30am.  All in all it was a great weekend and tons of fish in the freezer now! :EAT:
