First Season Under the Boots
« on: November 14, 2010, 10:52:11 PM »
Well the boy gave it a good run.  He got up every morning without me having to wake him twice.  We saw plenty of deer and he even had a few opportunities to shoot but just couldn't close the deal.  A couple time he actually spotted the deer before I did and pointed at them with his finger instead of readying his rifle.  Over all we had a good time and hunted hard. We both still have our turkey tags because we haven't harvested one of them yet either so we'll give that a shot this weekend.

Put him in for doe tags, it is anwesome way to get some trigger time and a deer down.  My kids are all done with the youth tags and will have to hunt with the big boys.  I'm going to miss the youth hunt.  Next my grandson!

We are thinking of hunting back in Montana next year.  He can get six over the counter B tags for Whitetails and hunt on one of the Block Management ranches.  It's early yet so we have plenty of time to come up with a plan.  Even if we go to MT, it is a good idea about the doe tags though, thanks.
