Advice on afternoon hunting

My partner canceled at the last minute yesterday, and I was wondering if afternoon hunting is worthwhile.  I am thinking of taking my boat up around Spencer, but wanted to ask if what the opinion is for going out in the afternoon.  I normally go early, and then am done by noon.  I have seen some people going out in the afternoon, but figured they were not really that serious....

only difference is your boating out in the daylight and in at dark vs coming out in the dark and back in at daylight 

evening flight can be productive when I'm willing to go out there and work it.

Afternoon hunting is a waste of time. Stay home or hunt early in the morning. That way I have the places to myself in the afternoon 

All joking aside, I actually prefer to hunt in the afternoons for both ducks and upland on public land. I've shot just as many birds, without the crowds, in the afternoon as I have in the AM. You get to sleep in, stay warm, set-up in the daylight and best of all, it is easier to take the young kids.

For me the last hour of shooting time always seems to be the most productive.

 Spencer should be a good evening hunt. You should have no problem getting some Pins and Tuxedo's. They seem to be all over that island.

have breakfast,read the paper,check the wind,launch at 10-11, all the guys out since 3 or 4 are done & you can see to set up & dont have to worry about some one beating you to the spot. geese seem to come in later as well. be home before dinner. whats not to love-besides the columbia is beutifull at night. if the weather does come up & strand you, youl be the first there in the morning.

the only reason I don't 'prefer' evening shoots is because I feel like i'm fighting time. The last 2 hours of the day goes by as quickly as that last 5 minutes in the morning before legal shooting hours (the longest 5 minutes known to man)

just make shure you unload at last shooting time cuz when the birds come in at last light & land while your picking up, it will tax your limitations
