Coyotes on Ft Lewis
« on: November 21, 2010, 08:57:08 AM »
I heard from the guy who runs the trap range that yote hunting is good on Ft. Lewis.  Anybody have any info on this and if there is anyone or group that tracks birds or animals taken form the different areas at Ft Lewis.  I would like to go coyote hunting after duck season.

You'll need to use a bow then, they have some crazy rules about what weapons are allowed after general seasons are closed.  I wanted to use a shotgun on base for yotes, after duck season, and I could, but could only use like size 2 shot or smaller...  This was 3 yrs ago, unless it's changed since then.  Go to the adventure center there and get their pamphlet which will explain this.

Thanks for the info, I wouldn't want to screw up and get busted.
I got registered 2 weeks ago and it is a new system for me.  They have all these different areas that you can call in to reserve but they don't keep track of what areas produced what harvest whether it's birds, bucks or yotes.  They have a great asset there, it just doesn't seem like those managing care very much.
