GPS ?
« on: November 24, 2010, 11:00:16 AM »
I'm wanting a GPS soley for the purpose of showing me wether or not I'm only public land. On our trip to WY this fall we had good maps, but there was a few times where there just wasn't enough detail, on the map or the land to really be certain. I'm currently looking at the Garmin Vista HCX bundle in particular.

Buy a Garmin that accepts maps (like the Vista HCX) and buy a product from this company:

http://www.huntinggpsmaps.com/

Their maps show public/private very well.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

Cabelas still has the Oregon 450T on sale for $329.  I wouldn't trade mine for any other gps on the market as of now.  I use Montana mapping chips for the individual states in mine, and love them.  I use mine religiously, even if I'm in country that I know well.  Sems like there's always something to learn. :twocents:
