Hi Guy's, decided to go out this morning with my daughter before all the Thanksgiving festivities start and try and fill my archery tag. We were watching these 2 does when this guy showed up. I immediatly saw that this was the same buck I saw during the rifle season, and in fact I took a couple of pictures of him because of his odd antler. He started to chase the does around, and one of them ran right by us at 25 yards. The buck went by us at 30 yards following the doe. I stopped him and smacked him with my AR.
It was snowing hard and I was worried that I would loose his tracks and blood. I know I made a great shot on him, so I decided to go after him after waiting 20 minutes. We followed blood for a 100 yards and there he was dead in his tracks. The shot took both lungs out and a part of the heart. The horns were odd, because he had 4 points on one side and a 2 inch stub on the other. The base was there and full size, but it looks like he may have broke his main off possibly while he was still in velvet.

Any way it was a great morning with the daughter. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. John
