Chucker/Hun hunting over the holiday weekend

Going after my first washington chuckar and or hun this weekend in washington.  I have hunted them for years in oregon but moved up to vancouver this year so now I need to find some washington spots.  I am looking at the area of the snake south of ritzville and the area of the columbia around vatage.  without giving away your spots can you guys let me know if im in the right neck of the woods....

You're in the right area. Check around Ellensburg, Yak Training Center too. HAve to take a class to hunt on the Yak  Training Center

thanks,  i have hunted the johnday and deschutes canyons on the the oregon side a lot, is there some decent land on the washington side? goldendale - tri cities area maybe??? i am only going to be able to hunt with my son this weekend and maybe a weekend in january due to his basketball schedule so im hoping to atleast have a shot or two on some birds and not waste the entire weekend trying to find country.  any help would be greatly apreciated

There are huns scattered throughout the Palouse and SE WA in addition to quail and pheasants.  Chukar........ well you know where they will be, steep rocky country.....and start climbing!  Good luck and let us know how you do.  Your closest spot will be Goldendale above the Columbia for Chukar.  Further east you will find the variety of upland birds.   May need to also consider hunting on the Oregon side again.  I have hunted above Pendleton for a all three great gamebirds.
