Sheep are down
« on: November 27, 2010, 11:44:09 AM »
in droves at the feeding station.  Swung in there with my daughter and there were a ton.  It was cool as they were fighting over an ice chunk for water.  Not very good for pics but fun for my daughter and I.   I had a 5 gallon bag of frozen water in the back of my truck from all of my travel adventures.  I got out a knife and peeled off the plastic and slipped the ice under the fence.  They loved it. They aren't feeding yet, but the sheep are sure wanting it.

Very cool. You always seem to be in the right place at the right time.

Going to Boise back in October I was headed east on 84 (IIRC) and could see them from the freeway. Don't remember the mile marker, but over a half dozen on the side of the hill.

It wasn't photo worthy really, but was sure cool, and I had my daughter from Spokane stand next to me and we had a whole pile of sheep within feet of us.  One tried to eat a weed through the fence less than a foot from her.  Then there was all of the mild head smacking over the ice.   REALLY cool for her.  Had two ewes get into it.  I had no idea they head butted

Beautiful work as always. Love the pictures.

Thanks bullrider.  Mostly I was there for reference photos for Michelle and to show my oldest the sheep.  She never gets to see them.

If all works out right we are going to Sunnyside next weekend for the lighted implement parade, hopefully taking my buddy and his wife and 2 year old boy. I am going to try to plan a way to get up to the feeding stations to show them some animals. Are they feeding the elk? My buddy just took hunters ed this year and ate his tags so at least he can see the animals up close and drool, plus I want to see the look on his boys face when he can see the animals.

There are animals around the stations but they haven't started feeding yet as far as I know. This ram was still on the mountain chasing tail.
