Swarovski z3 or z5
« on: November 30, 2010, 10:42:11 AM »
Anyone use one of these scopes.  I am looking for a scope that gives me a little more range than my Nikon Monarch 3x9.

If it is questions regarding brand, I could answer a few.  I'm not familiar with those particular models, though.  If they have an option for the 'fine crosshair' reticle, (if that is the one you want) I would take a look through it under low light conditions.  I had to switch scopes once I moved out of the high country because the Swarovski 'fine crosshair' was too difficult to locate down in the jungle.

I think the best bang for the buck is the Nikon Monarch line.  They have a 3-12, a 4-16, a 5-20, a 6-24, and an 8-32 if you want more magnification.  I have the 5-20, and a friend does also. We have both been pleased.

Swarovskis are great if you can afford them.

I've been looking around(christmas).

The difference may be minimal between glass(z3 or z5) but the real difference i would guess is the  new inner tube pressure system that sworo has patented. The z3 has the "old" leaf spring and the z5, z6, and ph have the new coil springs. very cool.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.
