Bad news for Ellensburg area pheasant release sites
«

We were suppose to get the last installment of pheasants released at Whiskey Dick and the Cottonwoods but I called the game department and they said that the November releases were canceled due to the winter storm. She told me that they released the birds somewhere else (probably around Yakima because that is where the birds came from).
Hopefully there are still a few cocks running around that haven't been blasted yet!

Do the eastside pheasant release sites have scheduled releases? About how many releases does each site receive? I do like the thought of chasing released birds to take the pressure off our declining wild birds.

There is not really a good schedule. Information is sparce. Release numbers are a lot lower than westside release sites. I did get some info though, they said that initially, 180 birds were released on most sites before the youth hunt.
