darn stick!!
« on: December 05, 2010, 08:05:34 AM »
My buddy and I went out to our spot yesterday morning in pursuit of elk and right away we found a herd back in the timber so we put the stock on em and got within 50 yards of a few of the cows so I let one fly and it could'nt have been a more perfect shot but what I didn't see was a stick about 3'' in diameter sticking up right at her vitals and my arrow went right into that stick and stuck there and off went the elk. Oh well it was a awsome time and we'll get em before the 15th.

Did you harvest the stick?  My dad has one mounted to a horn plaque on the wall with his arrow still stuck in it.  Said it was'nt as nice as the the 5 by 6 that he was shooting at but harder to hit.

My buddy and I were hunting a farmers field for turkey this week. He missed the first shot, then bounced the second shot off of the top fence wire.

Wires and sticks keep us humble. (Or really angry.  ;))

I think you should harvest the stick as well.

There was never a horse that couldn't be rode; there was never a cowboy that couldn't be throwed.
