A bunch of bull
«
on:
December 07, 2010, 10:22:32 AM »
We just got back from a few days in Winston for late archery and I'm more frustrated with the regs than ever. We saw 6 nice bulls in all and had one that would have walked within a few yards of me if I didn't scare it off with the flash of the camera. The group of 4 was spotted from the road and ended up crossing about 30 yards in front of us after we followed them for a bit.
We saw around 2 dozen cows and a few calves but only got 85 yards from any cow. At least it looks good for next year.

Them damn things always seem to know when you cant shoot em. Should of escorted them over to the mossy and told them to stay away from the cows you were trying to shoot.

We were seeing the same thing up there too. Lots of nice bulls. I think they just hunker down when all the riffle hunter hit that area and that is where they stay until riffle season is over. My dad had taken a picture of a dandy bull and I will see if will post it also.

Yes they seem to know when you cant shoot em. I think the WDFW distributes the regs to the animals with a plane drop?

Awesome pics, that first bull looks pretty nice for winston. Reports of bulls are always good to hear and it looks like you found em

I wonder, if I print the pictures on my tag will my soup taste better? Here's one of the other bulls we saw and a side view of the one that should be in my freezer.

Gosh, I can't wait until the wolves make it to the Winston, the Margret, and the Tootle
