Late archery elk season so far
« on: December 10, 2010, 03:17:27 PM »
Wanted to share some pics. Hope this works. Have gotten to within 25 yds once, 50 once and 80 about three times. One shot so far which was deflected by brush. Clean miss.

With the rain the next five days what will the general tendencies of the elk be? I have been in the timber from about 1 hr after sunrise to 1 hr before sunset and sitting first and last light.

Will the elk be in the timber more? Will they tend to move more during the day?

I will be in the timber tomorrow as well.  Ive been in the elk too many times not to have killed one, and launched a few arrows as well.  Apparently i need work on judging distance, or maybe use that 350 dollar range finder i have been carrying around.

AKBowman,
Does 'Walk In Hunting Only' allow the use of a bicycle? Just asking. I would interpret it to mean "Walk In Hunting Only".

Not good, I had to pull out of there late last night b/c highway 4 is supposed to flood this morning and is my only way out. I couldnt afford to get stuck in there. Lots of the sidestreams are raging right now and its like 60 degrees. Crazy storm!!

Might try to get back in there when things settle down in a couple days.
