Nice Michigan Buck
« on: December 11, 2010, 03:12:28 PM »
My buddy shot this a couple of weeks ago.  I'm not a big whitetail guy but the safety would have come off for this pig.

Michigan has the highest density of bowhunters in the country.  Pulling a mature buck out of that state is no small feat, regardless of weapon - tell him Congrats!!

GREAT BUCK!!   There are a ton of deer in southern michigan and many good quality bucks, there are also a ton of basket racks too.  The trick is getting permission from the landowners, any state property in southern Michigan is over run with hunters.   I used a canoe to get away from most of them.

That's a great deer.  I don't think I have ever seen one hung, or hanged that way....
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

That is a dandy buck.  Doesn't look like your buddy is any stranger to big whitetails, judging by the rest of the bucks in the first picture!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Those in the background are at the local taxidermy shop in Michigan.  Not sure if he has any better pictures of them.  I'll ask.  He was on private land as his family owns a large tract of land.  Lucky B@stard :)
