Elk in Randle
« on: December 12, 2010, 07:47:12 PM »
I've now hunted in Randle GMU 503 for 4 years now and let me tell you as a muzzle loader it sucks. Most of the people I see there have no idea of respect for the land they hunt.I see more trash and beer cans there then anywere.I can only hope that other hunters will learn to respect the lands they hunt or the timber co will close them to us.

All those elk are in packwood, unfortunately. If this weekends weather had been snow instead of rain, they would be low by the Cispus. I agree, I was out there yesterday and today.  When I came back today I filled a garbage bag full from a campsite and a couple turnouts where there was  sign that said NO CAMPING!!!

 >:( >:( >:( There is no excuse to be a slob, pick up your crap, show respect for the land and live by the rules. The rest of us pay the price for those that are just plain azzed lazy and stupid.

this is all the canned food cans the logging outfit left behind, logging outfits are under direct supervision of the timber companies.

I have more from colockum also, but cannot find the disk i have them all on, fuel cans, oil drums, rolls of cable, reels, doors and alot of other types of jusnk the timber companies could have taken with them after the job was completed, over at my buddies house near coleville, the loggers left behind auto batteries, fuel containers and plastic oil cans all over the place.

Timber companies cant soley blame the hunters when they themselves leave more crap in the woods than we do.

Myself, the only thing left in the woods from me being there is footsteps.

So, let me get this straight, you have some crap on your land that an employee left there years ago by the looks of those cans. That somehow makes it OK for someone you granted permission to hunt on your land, which you didn't have to I might add, to dump garbage on it? IT IS THEIR LAND! There should not be any justification or excuse making, or blaming them for their actions in the equation,  That's the attitude that locks us out of hunting on private timber lands. :bash:

BTW, I don't find the look of those rusty cans, or old cable etc. nearly as offensive as dozens of beer cans left by some scumbags who use hunting as an excuse to get *censored*faced in the woods, spreading their trash all over someone else's property and generally giving hunters a bad name in an already skeptical public eye. But hey, let's blame some of it on "THE MAN", because we don't want to really police our own.

Take some initiative and pick the cans and garbage up. I always pick up cans, boxes, spent shells, balloons when I come across them. Just because you did't throw the garbage out doesn't mean you can't pick it up.

                                                             :yeah:

I totally agree with this. Yes there are some (alot) of slobs out there. I see beer cans left on ridges from hunters (hunting and drinking bad mix) and  just people out in the woods leaving garbage. Its just sad the lack of respect for others people property. This is one of the reasons why alot of the woods are being shut down for public use.  >:(
When we go up in the hills to go camping hunting or whatever we always come back with more garbage then just ours. it doesn't take much to pick up a little bit more. I have instilled this in my kids as well, everyone needs to help.

Mack,
I normally try the Winston for late season and couldn't make it so I figured I would try the Randle this time. I got down there by sun up this Friday morning and walked my but off trying to find sign of elk and couldn't find a thing. I saw deer sign everywhere but absolutely no elk sign  :(
I ended up leaving and not hunting Saturday like I planned just because I was so discouraged.

I was down Skinner and there was some nice places but just couldn't find a thing. If I had just seen some sign I would have stayed another day.

At least my wife was glad to see me sooner then expected  :)

I hate seeing the trash as well... Can't figure out why anyone would want to carry beers around with them while hunting  :bash:

Regards,
Fulla
