anyone ever have success with one. i checked my game cam the morning after i filled my tag and found to giant bucks on it. not bad for a one night deal. both in the 150 plus range and i really want to put my hands on those horns. looking for ideas. would a snare over hay be unethical, lol. jk.

I'm going to put mine up next week I will post a picture when I get back. There just a 12x12x12 box with a 9x9in hole in top. Buck tries to get feed out when it's near the bottom and antlers are knocked off. Well that's the hopes anyway

Just hope you dont show up to a buck with his head stuck in your box starving cause his antlers wont pop off. I have thought about making one but I cant get over the fact that I might cause harm to a deer by accidentally getting one tangled up big time.   Not bashing you just curious how you prevent it.

I'm thinking the antlers do not enter the box, but fall to the outside. if there still hard the buck simply wont get in, if they are loose he'll knock em off to feed. thats my thinking anyways. thats the design i'm going with.

also a concern is knocking the antlers off prematurely.

Let us know how it works maybe put a cam up next to it and turn it to video, might give you a litle insight as to how much trouble a deer is having with your set up

Pile up a ton of branches at the base of a big tree, throw hay into the pile of branches.  Fences work well for jarring loose antlers if they have to jump over it to get to where they want to go.

thats how i find alot of sheds on the east side, i just walk the fence lines

Just a thought, I would feel more satisfaction if I found them naturally then if I had rig up something to my advantage.  Just my 2 cents.
