A few Blacktail sheds
« on: December 16, 2010, 07:44:20 AM »
 New guy here :hello:

Anyway, hunt a patch of timber in Lewis county that's probably a couple hundred acres. In the three years of hunting there I have found these:

nothing overly impressive other than just the sheer number of them

Found a good spot but cannot get the buck out of there, lol. Seen him last year at 40 yards with three does. He was a 4 point about 16 or 17 inch spread. With a rifle, done deal, but bow....nope. Also saw a big forked horn, but again, no shot.

Three seasons ago I saw a big one, no shot.

This year, saw spikes and an average 2-point. I see his tracks. I know it's him. He is there. Finally, my last trip in on wed. put up a trail cam. My cuddeback failed me after two years so I did not have one to put up. My buddy set me up though and, hopefully, will have pics of him soon.

Crazy is the key word :o
I have taken 10 Roosevelt bulls with a bow but have yet to score on a Blacktail. I would be scared to figure out how much $ I have invested into it, lol, but then again, that is not what it's about.
