I was really considering buying one the first year they came out, I love the idea of the Bernelli inertia system, but they had some serious quality control issues the first couple years. Hopefully they have the bugs worked out buy now.
I still want one.

I've owned two Benelli's, and if someone gave me another one as a gift, I'd regift it! Total pieces of crap in my opinion. After the second one, I bought a Browning Gold.....I've never regretted it. :twocents:

The MR1 is a "Self Defence Rifle" not the shotgun.

Both my buddy and I shoot Super Black Eagle shotguns for everything from Pheasants to geese, it's the only semi-auto I've seen that seems to be as reliable as the tried and true Remmy 870 pump.  Had mine 11 years now and not one problem with it, I would not hesitate to buy another Benelli product.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Funny that someone had trouble with a Benelli - I own one now and I think my dad is on his third or fourth.  Never had any problems; all been great guns.  These are all shotguns and not rifles.

I went from an 870 Wingmaster (wish I would've never sold it) to a S&W to a Beretta to a Benelli.  The only one that I liked as much as the Benelli was the Wingmaster, but it was an old 80's model that was only 2 3/4", which is why I started upgrading.  At the time, I was in school and had no money so had to sell one to afford to buy another.
